What is driving your emotions? Your thoughts or God's truth and faithfulness?
Emotions are so important. God gave us emotions. He has them.
But when we let our heart and our thoughts lead our emotions, instead of God's word, we begin to look more like our emotions and less like Him.
Here is a prayer I wrote in my Bible during a tough mental time:
"When I'm in a time of great oppression and struggle, let me look to You and Your truth, God. Let me look to Your faithfulness.
When my emotions come flooding my thoughts, help me direct them to You, Your character, and Your love.
When I find it hard to see a way out or an end to tough times, help me remember the countless ways You have been faithful, present, and come to my rescue. "
Psalm 77:10 says "To this I will appeal: the years when the most high stretched out his right hand. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds."
Today I pray that we can remember what is true, always.
Happy Treasure Tuesday. 💛
